Another which intake thread

hey,

I need your recommendations for an intake manifold for my 350 motor. The carb is spreadbore. Will modify if needed to fit on 87 up heads.

98 350 ci
650 dp holley carb (q jet replacement)
cam is xr258hr (.480/.487 lift at 050 inch lift) Duration at 050 inch Lift: 206 int./212 exh. 110 lsa

2400 rpm stall

will be putting in 3.43's

081 heads, 1.94'' intake, 1.5'' exhaust, mildly ported and polished.

Thanks very much

Performer or Action +. You don't have enough cam there to need much more.

if you are ok with running a stock intake there are factory ones on the 87 and 88 cars that were carb, in 88 they were not on F body but were still on the B bodies and other models

commonand still aluminum

good luck

In the 300 gross flywheel range, with proper exhaust and air cleaner.

Just exactly what I was wondering. I see these in the junkyards just about every time I go and was wondering about thier suitability for a TBI to carb swap. Not trying to build the ultimate ThirgGen here just want to ditch the fuel injection. With it being used by GM it should be easy to set up the throttle and kick down for the 700r4. The only possible downside I can see is that it won't accept a squarebore carb without an adapter. Do you all think I should be locked up for my own good??

I hate to use a spacer and it could screw up the 'perfect' alignment of the throttle bracket, although I'm sure it will still work. That being said, I'd go with whatever is least expensive: used stock + spacer or new intake for square bore.

Re: Another which intake thread

A guy could use the stock aluminum intake and put a early 70s or late 60s Quadra-Jet carb. I think the carbs off a 350 were about 650 CFMs or thereabouts.
