tachometer hook up on tbi-carb swap!
i swapped out my tbi motor for a carb'd on my 91 rs and need information on how to hook up my tach. im not too familar with distributor and stiff but i do no that my new dist. is not computer controlled. its an msd with a 6a box and coil. on my dist. theres a plug that connects it to the 6a box. and from 6a box theres 2 wires that go to the coil (pos/neg) and also a wire that goes from dist. cap to coil. does any one have information on how i can hook up my stock tach to this set up? ive included some picks to help explain it a little better.

I believe it is a white (might wait for someone to confirm) wire that ran to the negative side of the OE coil, you want to hook it to the negative side of your aftermarket coil. Thats the route i went.

Don't put it to the coil. If you do that with an MSD you'll fry the tach. Connect it to the tach terminal on the box.

Right, whichever color wire it was that connected to the tach terminal on your original distributor.

The MSD 6 installation instructions have pretty much every wiring diagram you could ever need.

As long as your wiring isn't butchered, you don't need to reconnect the speedo.

Follow the tach wire back to the firewall. You might not even have a tach filter.
