carb sticking

the carb on my 84 is sticking. its a Edelbrock 1407 - 750 cfm. i will be driving and it is like the throttle gets stuck. when that happens i push in the clutch and rev the engine and that un sticks it for a second.

i spray this carb cleaner that also lubricates onto the linkage and that helped for about 3 weeks but this keeps happening. and it didnt seam to help as much this time.

im looking for suggestions on fixing this

im not really familiar with cars so if you need more info ask.

here are a couple pictures of my carb.

Re: carb sticking

Get a dual recoil spring for the linkage. It looks like its barely pulling back on it. see if that fixes it. The last thing u need is that car to stick wide open and blow the motor or run into someone.

Re: carb sticking

The other thing you can do is take the spring that is there, cut the hook off one end and wrap a new hook around a pair of needlenose. This will shorten the spring slightly, and put a bit more tension on the linkage.
