just trying to get a good understanding about why people would spend 20 dollars on one fitting can someone explain an fittings and the advantages of using them thanks

I think they create a more higher-end looking result, which is why I use them. They are also reusable, so if you have to re-plumb something, you're not out any more money. The stainless hose also helps protect the rubber inside, so failure due to chaffing is just about eliminated.
If you buy the Summit fittings, they are a lot cheaper and work just as good.

The inside of the stainless hose is the same rubber you would use without the AN fittings.
There's a learning curve to installing the hose on the fittings. The fittings are two pieces; one is barbed with threads on the outside and the other has threads on the inside. The hose gets shoved into one piece until its about an eight inch away from where the threads start. You put some lube on the barbed piece and start to screw the two pieces together. As you turn the pieces together, the hose is pulled over the barbed end and squeezed between the two pieces. The joint they make is incredibly strong.

nice thanks for clearing that up for me reaelly i appreciate it...and say i wanted to run my whole fuel system front the tank to the motor...do i use stainless braided rubber tubing or some hardline

You're choice really. I'd personally do hard line if I could to the engine compartment, then braided. I'm not sure what the pros and cons would be to either way.

There are other ways to go from tubing to hose as well, like tube nuts and sleeves.
Running hose from the tank to the carb would be an expensive proposition, and not really needed.

Those Earls hard line adapters are only suited for low pressure apps. If you need something for a higher efi like pressure get a steel fitting from aeroquip or something from swagelok. The brass ferrules and alu bodies give too litle bite on a steel line for higher pressures. They work fine for carbs and tranny lines.

wow when ur looking at the fittings for the first time its hard to understand how they grab anything at all i guess ill have to buy them and figure them out when they get here this is all new to me lol thanks alot for the help i appreciate all the help and the pictures
