Wouldn't 500 cfm be enough?
I've been doing some thinking... I bought an 88 formula with a half-done 305-350 swap under the hood. The last owner used an older style block and I'm pulling my hair out trying to trace wires, etc.
So I looked above my workbench and on a shelf sits a 500 cfm holley 4412 2 bbl carb. It's the rules-spec carb on a street stock circle track car. So i'm wondering why no one uses them on here? I've been thinking about grabbing a 2 bbl. intake, old school distr. and putting that on there.
I know it's obviously not going to put down the power of a bigger 4 bbl combo, but with the gas prices over $3.35 for 92 octane, would it make sense or am I just nuts?

You could, but it's only going to limit your top-end power, not save you any fuel.
