MC solenoid question
MC solenoid question
What causes the MC solenoid to make the clicking sound? What I mean is, what is the actual clicking sound you're hearing? Is it the sound of the plunger hitting the rich stop when in the up position and then hitting the MC solenoid itself when moving to the the down postion?
Yes this may sound like a dumb question, but I assure you there's good reason to be asking!

Re: MC solenoid question
....its kinda annoying because it makes it seem like your car's valves are "ticking" when it's really just the solenoid. -_-

Start by making sure the electrical connector for it is living up to it's name.

Re: MC solenoid question
If you turn the key to the run position without the car running then it clicks for 1/2 a minute or so and stops by design. To test it should 1) read 20 - 26 ohm from either side grounded to the carb and it should 2) click.

Re: MC solenoid question
Also check to make sure the solenoid is able to actually move freely up and down. You can do this by poking a small rod down the top of the air horn next to the idle air bleed.
