Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

By "flat", are you saying your carb is non-functional, or non-existent?

How can you tell if it was done right? Ask him what he did, then post what he says on here.

What kind of carb is it? Do you know how he set up the fuel system?

V6 EFI used a in-tank electric fuel pump - if that is still being used, some sort of fuel pressure regulation, and a fuel return system, is required.

If an engine-mounted mechanical pump like was used in '73 is being used, the in-tank electric pump must either still be operating or it has to be removed - if it is still being used, see "fuel pressure regulation" and "fuel return system" comments above.

I bet the pump is still in the take and you are using the mechanical pump on the enigne. I have herd that you can just pull fuel threw the intake "dead" pump but it doesnt work. I had to pull the pump out and it fixed it. I had the same problem you got. It would idle but it couldnt pull enuff fuel threw the dead pump to do anything other than idle.

All 3rd gens with carbs delivered in the U.S. had a computer controlling the carb mixture and ignition timing (among other things).

However, '86 V6 f-bodies did not have carbs. He is either ignorant, or he's lying, or the car isn't an '86.

on the 700r4 transmissions they have throttle valve cables or tv cables and not a kick down cable its hooked up to throttle and adjusts how it shifts up and down.
