Speed Demon carb, TV cable bracket, etc
I've made a switch from a Holley Street Avenger to a Speed Demon (750 cfm vac sec).
I had the Holley fitted so that the TV cable/throttle linkage bracket and geometry corrector were spot on. The throttle cable and TV cable share the same bracket. The geometry corrector is a bolt on piece.
What I'm finding is that the Demon carb will not accept any of these parts (without modification).
I'm looking for an aftermarket solution and was hoping that someone here at ThirdGen has some experience putting a Barry Grant/Demon carb on their Camaro or Firebird. I suppose any GM vehicle that uses a 700R4 with a throttle valve cable would work too.
The parts in the pics below are what work with the Holley.
Further to this, who is using what for a throttle spring bracket? The Moroso piece I had been using won't fit without a lot of mods either.
Thanks.

I'm considering that myself. I have some drawings that show the distance from the throttle shaft centre line and the radius of the required arc. I had done this on one of my first Holley/700R4 arrangements and then found the actual Holley part. It won't take much to modify that part of build one as you have I suppose but there's nothing like "plug and play".
I found this part from CSR to use as a throttle cable/TV cable, throttle spring bracket. Or I could modify the Holley part to fit.

The brackets that attach to the carb mounting bolts are a better choice if you decide to use a spacer or a taller inake down the road it will always fit, mine I had to modifi after installing the 1" spacer

That takes care of the throttle cable. Is there another part hiding in the catalogue that meets the needs of the TV cable.
I found one at TCI which looks suspiciously similar to the Holley bracket that dosen't fit unless you trim it up a little.

Having a Vortec intake makes the choices for a manifold mounted bracket slimmer than for a conventional manifold but I agree with you on the carb mounted units being more adaptable.

This looks like the real deal. I just don't know if universal includes Barry Grant.

If its like the one in the picture it won't fit the demon carb cause of the acc pump you need the courved one like the one you posted in the other post

You're exactly right. Without the "hook" at the front, there's hard contact with the accelerator pump.
Going to keep looking.

Found this.
Two parts.
http://www.holley.com/20-119.asp
That fits with this. (A copy of one of the several available).

With the button hook shape that clears the accelerator pump housing.

Re: Speed Demon carb, TV cable bracket, etc
Problem is that Holley piece is like 110$, plus I believe 40$? For the kick down cable bracket, try the trickflow version, it has the lower kickdown piece included for 89$

The price didn't exactly thrill me either.
That Trickflow piece looks like the right part. Right price too.
Thanks.

Re: Speed Demon carb, TV cable bracket, etc
I was able to use my factory cable bracket but I had to add a spacer to so I could get full throttle from the pedal and so the cruise control would work properly as well.
I didn't really do a huge search but I've seen a bracket offered by Allstar performance that looks similar to the Holley kit you have posted. I don't know if they offer one with the trans bracket included though.

Re: Speed Demon carb, TV cable bracket, etc
I found this in the Allstar catalogue.
There's a TV cable bracket for it too.
It's looking like there are a lot of brand names with the same part and it doesn't look like it'll be hard to get at a decent price either.
Thanks for all the feedback people. It's all very helpful.

Good to know. Just wish they had an adapter that looks cool and includes the cruise control. Edlebrock has one that is nice but the application says it is for Edlebrock/Carter style carbs?!? With it being adjustable I would think that it should work with a Holley.

Re: Speed Demon carb, TV cable bracket, etc
That's the part that prompted me to post here in the first place. I have more than one piece in my parts pile that I thought would fit....
I had intended to go with the Fast EFI bracket but was informed here that it wouldn't fit. Sure enough, a racing friend was able to check his set up and verified that.
Saved me from more inventory that I may never use.

I know what you mean by that. Many different projects, changing my mind and look good parts not working out as planned has left me with a few of those as well.
I just got a bunch of stuff in from Summit Thursday for my T/A to help clean a few things up and move things around.

Re: Speed Demon carb, TV cable bracket, etc
I've got quite a pile of parts that I've gathered over the off season (which is roughly early Dec to the end of March around these parts).
What that does is that it gives me a lot of work to do once the warmer weather settles in and I can squeeze all of those parts into the car. The other thing it does is gives me enough time to forget what I've ordered so I end up with duplicates every now and then. I had forgotten that I had a NIB Holley throttle bracket that I could cut to fit the BG carb. That will tide me over until the new bracket arrives. I tend to wait and order my parts in bunches but in the meantinme I still want to get the new fuel system up and running.
At least having excess inventory pays off now and then.

Re: Speed Demon carb, TV cable bracket, etc
That's how I started to modify my T/A. I had a cam sitting around, an old HEI distributor, a Holley 600 and an old (1984) performer manifold sitting around. It was all down hill from there with spending money on the car LoL
I got more into showing this car versus racing it so I've been working on getting everything perfect looking.

I know I am insanely late to the party, but I used what you have in your original post. We cut a notch out with a plasma cutter to clear the acc pump.
