I have seen such data, and it definatly helped. I'll be damned if I can remember any numbers tho.

Removing the choke horn definately helps especially if you have a drop base aircleaner.

Stupid question...
What's a choke horn? The sort of vertical extension that the choke plate closes against? If that is what one is, how does removing it affect cold startups?
Thanks

If you have no choke cold start-ups suck and really cold start-ups really suck. The choke horn on a holley is the part that sticks up on the primaries, one without the choke horn has both the primaries and secondaries looking the same.

84FTA is totally right, I am in the process of selling my holley because of this. It is one Bad ***** once it gets warmed up, but before then, it sucks. If it gets cold where you are at all, you will need a choke.

Well... I can't give you dyno results, but I can give you G-tech results. When I first installed, and tuned the carb, my best g-tech time was a 13.15. I pulled the carb, took a cutter to the choke horn, smoothed the rough edges off, and broke out of the 13s.
