Edelbrock carb question....

what vacuum side do you hook the vacuum advance of the dist. to? Does it need the Full time vacuum or the ported vacuum side?

Normally the distributor is connected to ported vacuum.

Most people I am close to do not run vacuum advance, but those who do prefer to connect direct to a manifold port. I have also done this in the past and just plug off the ports on the front of the carburetor.

It is the bottom left vac. port on the front of the carb.

IMO If you have a functioning EGR system use the ported vacuum, if you have no EGR use the manifold vacuum.

Also, If you are not running EGR you also will want to limit the total vacuum advance using the Crane adjustable kit. The other kits I've seen allow you to adjust the curve but not the total amount of advance.

manifold vacuum can either be from a port directily in a manifold runner, the rear brake-booster port on the Carb, or the front PCV port on the carb. Those are the best places.

The small ports on the front of the carb I do not recommend using for a couple of reasons.
