Are there any differences on the deck lid and grafix between an 88 SC and a 91 Z28 convertible?

I think that the high rise spoiler looks awesome on the convertibles. I am going to try to pick one up, but want to make sure if it will fit. Should I keep the side mouldings just remove the "shorty" spoiler on the back?

James

PS you got your car for $550.00!!!!! I need to go where you go.

You have to remove the stock center spoiler, fill the holes, drill new holes for the highrise, cut the tops off the side caps, fill / bondo / prep the sides, make them the right height, etc.

Well, I did half of that, though I really don't want to cut my side caps... I would NEVER be able to find those again.

Hmmm Maybe I could fiberglass something up? I am doing all the prep work for paint right now as it is and have already removed the center spoiler and started work on that. So I take it an 88 is the same problem putting one as a 91?

88, 91, same thing, extra sets of caps can be had, I know where a few sets are myself, unless you want to try and create a mold, make a repro set of caps, then cut them up, you have no choice but to cut them.

What if you cut the wing and shaped it to the cap instead of vv. as done in that pic?

I have a 91/92 wing on a parts car and was considering doing it, but not at the cost of cutting the caps.

I might. What would be the best way to do it, tools, etc? Hate to think what someone would charge for it.

The best way would be to take one end cap off and set the 92 wing on the car lid up against the endcap still on the car. and scribe a line with a grease pen on the 92 wing. Then do the same for the other side.

Then Just take a little at a time off and test fit it. better to take a little at a time then alot and remove to much...

As for tools. When I did my end caps I filled em with glass and cut some of the tips off with a jig saw 1st. and then just used my DA for the rest.

Resurrection
Had to bring this post back from the dead....

Just curious if anyone else had pics or had tackled this project. I would like to see more pictures of this and perhaps some closeups of where the most work is needed.

I think those "high rise" rear spoilers on a convertible look really good.

Thanks!
