Add another 3rd gen vert to the collection!

That's right, I just bought a 92 Trans Am Convertible. Maroon, tan int, tan top, 85,000 miles . It has a 305 TPI WS6 suspension, AT, but the only problem is the top needs replaced and the interior needs cleaned. Another problem is that when my brother and I tried to put the top down, it would unlatch and go down, but it wouldn't go down into the space all the way, like something was cathing or not bending right. Dont' know what it could be. Where I bought it was an auto auction up in columbus and got a good price on it $1600 good. My mom and her husband has seen this car sit for at least 3 years at the aution yard. Here are the pics.

Take them GTA badges off poser...

Sweet deal. Hell it's worth at least $3,000 in parts! Get her cleaned up and show some more. As far as the top, this is your second vert so it can't be anything you're doing wrong.

Good luck!

We figured the top out. It hasn't been down in over 3 or so years so the bars in the top wasn't turning the right way, so we had to convince them to bend right. But all that will change once the new top goes on. Yeah, I looked at it and I am trying to find the RPO codes to see what options it has and as far as the GTA badges, they have been on there for a while. The only other bad thing I see about it is that it has rear drums oh well.

Seems like most 92 TA's and Formula's had drum rears. I think they had a rear disc shortage during the last year and were giving pretty good credits to downgrade.

Mine was remedied of it's drum rear earlier this year..

My daughter likes it so much, she thought she would paint a picture on the passenger 1/4 panel with her sidewalk chalk and when I said, Kylie, NO, she dropped the chalk and started crying, so of course I picked her up and gave her a big hug, along with trying to wipe off the chalk. No damage done though.

Beginning with the 1989 model year, rear disc (RPO J65) became unavailable on Convertibles. Apparently, according to GM, brake fade is a good thing.
