whats the correct light bulb for your 3rd brake light? i know there is 5 bulbs in there. i already removed mine, they were all burnt out.

I use replacement bulbs that I snag from radio shack. They aren't a direct bolt in, but they do work. Just bring one of the old bulbs with you. You'll have to trim the prongs a bit, but they work great

Do a search here and they will come up. DEFINATELY worth it. The Radio Shack option saves you lots of $$$

they the same as the iroc bulbs? i always wanted to know if the iroc 3rd light was the same, or if they made a special convertible 1

 

I don't know the correct bulb part number. My dad replaced his a while ago with bulbs from the lawn/garden section of home depot. The original style was like $8 a piece where as the ones he bought were like $3 a piece. For pretty much the same bulb, and it was a direct fit. I'll ask him what he bought.

going to head there tomorrow and grab some

 

i have just relized that mine dont work...i took it out and and all the bulbs wher just moving around they whernt even connected to it, so i put together and they still dont work, it looks like all the bulbs are good...could it be the wiring or is that white bracket that holds the bulbs shot? what you think...one of the bulbs prongs are broken into the bracket

The 3rd brake lights are the same from the Ttop & coupe cars to the convertibles. I had to replace the entire light(lens & housing) on my 92, and it came from a 1987 Ttop car.

 

the 87 vert 3rd brake light is different I remember reading a while ago it came from the saleen mustangs or something they had at asc???

 

that would explain why they are pieces of crap, and never last



and i have a 3rd brake light decal on my `96 SS. looks cool.

 

I believe sylvania makes heavy duty bulbs for the 3rd brake light. I got all of mine at discount auto and autozone.
