Replace Carpet: ACC or ????
Replace Carpet: ACC or ????
I guess I have a huge water leak coming from somewhere this year that I didnt have last year...my carpet and padding is completey soaked on thed drivers side coming from the rear and is now completely toast. (but my seats are all dry...and under the toneau is dry, and trunk is dry...I guess its time to start replacing some of the rubber seals on this thing to try to fix the issue. It appears to have water in the bottom on the drivers side in the quarter panel if i look down where the top is held to the car frame wher the shoulder seatbelt.
Anyway, I'm thinking of using ACC carpet, but I dont know what to buy, as I cant find a listing for convertible carpet. Is there such a thing? Anyone replace their carpet with ACC, or any other brand and have some ideas/pointers about what to buy? Or is the convert carpet the same as the regular camaros?

Carpet should be the same for both the coupe and the convertible. It was for my TA. If the water is behind the driver's seat, you may want to see if your window seal along the rear edge of the driver's window is making a good seal.
I am not familiar with ACC carpet, but any good brand that won't fade will probably be fine.

As far as carpet goes, price is not an object.
If I can find new GM OEM dove gray I'll buy it....but other than that I see ACC all over the place, but I have no expierience in this area to know if they are in fact good, or if there is better out there.
I'm most interested in a good fit and finish to the carpet.

I bought my replacement Dove Grey carpet from Year One, which I believe uses ACC carpet. It is junk. I had to have them send me another replacement after 6 months because it had faded to a greenish blue from the sun.

Hey Nick, I replaced the carpet in mine from stockinteriors.com, some people on the local board recommened them, so far I am pleased, although I have seen much of my car lately.
I remember thinking when I was putting it in that if this was a coupe this would be a much worse job.
Good luck fixing that leak.

The carpet thing is a mess...
ACC makes the fading carpet... ACS made the better quality carpet, ACC bought out ACS! You can still get some of the ACS inventory, what I did, I picked up some acs inventory beechwood carpet / mats and extra carpet too... There is limited remaining supply...
Ask stock interiors if they use ACC... ACS had an Essex, higher count premium carpet available in limited colors, but it is nicer, and with the rubber backing too...

I am thinking of going with the carpet and mats for this site: www.autocarpetonline.com
They have a lot more options than the others, but you are going to pay for it.

FUNIROC did you purchase carpet from this place? If so, how do you like it? I'm looking to get some new carpet and I only want to buy it once
Re: Replace Carpet: ACC or ????
Last month I ordered carpet for my car from Ebay. When it arrived it had ACC markings stamped all over the box. I installed it anyway, despite what I've read in this thread, and it worked out pretty good.
I had to trim some areas along the sides facing the doors and cut holes for the seat studs, but overall it worked out nice. The area under the rear seats and over the rear floor "hump" doesnt fit as nice as I would have liked though. Seems to be extra material over the hump which looks a little sloppy.
Just happy to have replaced the trash that was in there!
