LT1 Fans vs. L98 Fans
my car stays around 230* while idling with or w/o a/c. it takes it a while to cool if and when it does. what is the difference between L98 fans and LT1 fans? are the LT1 fan motors rated at a higher wattage or something? the L98 fan blades are the exactly the same as LT1's(same part #). the LT1's fans are loud as hell, when the are going full blast. my l98's fans, when going full blast, can barely be heard.
can anyone help?

Yes, stock LS1 fans, over 5000 CFM when both are on full. That was as high as our velocity tool went. Probably pulls more than that though. Never tested LT1 or L98 fans. The LT1/LS1 stuff is shrouded better though, and thus perform better.

l98 fans shrouded? hahaha what shroud? i too am skeptical that any aftermarket company makes a dual fan setup that pulls more air that the stocker. i am leaning towards warn/old fan motors in my case. they are the originals from 1988. i think it might be time to replace them both even though they work. what do you guys think? :sillylol:

You can test it with an electrical tester. See how many volts are coming off of the negative wire going from the fan to a ground. If it is anywhere above 1 or 2 volts, you should look into a fan.
