I need to fix my leaky radiator
My Radiator leaks, at first it was little puddles here and there, but now it leaks mid sized puddles and I have to start carrying a bottle of water with me, what can I used to temporaraly seal my radiator until I can buy a new one? " it leaks from the bottom"
When I buy a new radiator "probably an autozone one" Is it difficult to swap radiators?? or is it a direct pull out and put in type of deal?? Or is it cheaper to get mine fixed?

They have some crap that you can put in the radiator that will stop the leak, but it is only temporary. Also, that stuff isn't that great. I can't remember the name but if you go to Autozone, Checkers, etc..you find it on the shelf with the other additives. Oh yeah, if you put it in, do a flush after you put the new radiator in.
As for the radiator, it is very easy to remove. Should be just a simple replacement. I did mine in about 20 minutes.

Bars Leaks!!!! Thats what the stuff is called. It's great, won't clog or turn your coolant nasty colors. I believe I was told once that GM put the equivalent of a bottle of that stuff into every car that comes off the assembly line. It will help lubricate your water pump too and prevent corrosion. I had a small pinhole leak around my waterpump after replacing it last summer and I wasn't about to take it back off for just a drop or two. Bars Leaks did the trick and I only used half a bottle.

Bar's will work, but only on the metal parts of your radiator. Most of our rad's have plastic tanks, wich are prone to developing pressure cracks.
Swapping a radiator is easy. The most difficult part is getting the tranny cooler lines hooked back up. You have a 5-speed, so this is a non-issue for you.

Don't put bars in the radiator! Get a new radiator or fix the one you have. I managed to fix mine by take away a few of the fins leaving enough room to put a metal-epoxy compount between the two tubes after I cleaned to bare metal.

a little to late for that, I put a tube of bars leaks the other day and I have no more leaks! I'll get a new rad and flush my system in the next couple of weeks

Twelvz: Welcome to the board! Always good to find ThirdGenners in this area.
As for the radiator, I have a stock replacement aluminum/composite radiator I got from PepBoys. I've been abusing it pretty good since March, and it seems to be holding up well.
Some parts places cary an all brass/copper radiator, but I had lots of trouble with those leaking around the joints. I ditched the last one when one of the heater hose fittings fell off and I didn't feel like breaking out the soldering torch again.

Yeah, the meet at Janaf Center (Millitary and I-64) got busted up by the cops a few months ago.
I usually hang out with the folks from Coastal V6 and HRRacing.com. We usually start off at the Saturday night Cruise-in at Giant Square on Independance Ave, in Pembroke (north of VA Beach Blvd) Lots of classics, muscle and Hot Rods. That goes every week from 3:00 untill 9:00, and then we usually go out from there. We tend to avoid the main drag at the beach this time of year, cause it's wall-to-wall tourists and traffic is a bie-otch. Some of the more popular hangouts are over in Newport News. The cops over there actually keep the Ricers away from the Domestics, and keep us away from the lot the imports hang out at.
The Barnes&Noble on Constitution & VB also attracts some late night action.
The only track I know of that's 'local' is back up 64 just past Williamsburg. There may be others, but I'm an autocrosser, and I never went looking for a drag strip.
See you on the street!
