Fan Toggle Switch

My 30amp 12volt toggle switch for my electric fan has burned up twice now. I thought the one fan wasn't suppose to pull more than 30amps. Do I need a fuse or a relay or something?

when the fans turn on. they will pull alot more amps then when they are running. so everytime u flip the switch......

however u shouldn't wire the fans directly to the switch. u have to use a relay..

note: u will only have one fan and relay since u have TBI..

my 30 amp 12 volt switch has given me no problems. you should use a relay, but you dont have to, im not.

well you don't Have to use a relay.. but I heavily recomend doing so that you don't take a chance of starting a fire.. especialy if u already have the relay..

my fan wiring was all messed up and the fan would not come on at all no matter what. a burnout contest was that night, so i did a manual switch. with the manual switch it cools great, and i have had no problems with it. i still have a relay for the fan in the car. and when i get some time i will do it up right.

Got a part # on a relay, and a price? My switch is from Radio Shack so if I could get one there that would be helpfull since I'll already be there.

i used all the factory fan setting for the fans, and just wired in a switch onto the fan switch wire and when i flip the toggle switch it grounds the relay and turns my fan on.. alot better than adding another relay and a fuse type switch..
