quetions about airdams

Did any 3rd gen model camaro come stock with an airdam? Do they really make a noticable or worthy difference? I've heard that they cost around $20 or so from the dealer, are they difficult or time consuming to install? (I can't imagine that they are), but I figured it could hurt to ask someone more knowlegdable than myself. Thanks guys,

Steve

I don't know if they came stock with one or not but you better make sure you get one soon. Your best bet is going through a GM dealer. No junkyard will have them in good shape normally. I think the run about 20-28 bucks. They are really easy to install. It takes like 4 screws to install. You will see the holes right after the radiator. Bolt them on up and thats it your done. I hope you know where it goes unless you want pictures but it really is that easy.

I think ALL 3rd gen cars came with the air dams for cooling purposes. Very easy to rip off and not be replaced on older cars. Unless someone think otherwise.

I checked with my local GM dealer, and they said the air dam had been discontinued, but check out ebay, and search for "Air Deflector" A company in Flordia sells them on there every week for about $33. I got one, and it is a GM part. Well worth the price.

Does anyone have any pictures of what they look like when they are not on the car, or can I find a decent picture by searching on ebay?

They have a good picture of them on ebay, not on the car.

You could replace the factory pieces:

Or you could make your own - one that deflects air through the radiator AND keeps air from under the car for higher speed handling:
