Re: pusher vs. puller

Pullers are more effective at cooling the rad. Pushers are easier to fit in some configurations.

Re: pusher vs. puller

then maybe you can tell me if this is ok. I bought, what I though (and was told) was a pusher, tonight I got it hooked up and it's a puller. I have it mounted on the engine side of the radiator, so it pulls air through the radiator and blows on the motor. is this a good set up? they work great, I just want to make sure i'm getting the more effective cooling kind of fans. thanks

Re: pusher vs. puller

That's the preferred way to do it.

If you switched the wires around, it would be a pusher.

Re: pusher vs. puller

if the fan is mounted of the motor side of the radiator, it should be pulling through the radiator and towards the motor, it should never be blowing towards the front of the car.

You have it hooked up the way the factory did it.

I bought two fans and radiator off ebay. The guy had them set up as pullers but it was wired as a pusher. He said he had troubles over heating. Wonder why... Anyway, I called the fan manufacturer and they told be to also remove the fans from the motors and reverse them also. Works great now.

Re: pusher vs. puller

some fans have uni-directional fan blades. While yes, you can just flip=flop the wires to make it run backwards, the fan blades work best spinning in one certain direction.

some fans the blades are symmetrical and all you have to do is swap the wires

jimdutro vbmenu_register("postmenu_3434947", true); - I bought dual 11" Spal fans off ebay, I think it was auto wizard out of florida. as for shroud they had the shroud built around them, just a matter of mounting them, (you had to figure that out yourself).
