Re: boiling over?

Had a similar problem, it was the fan switch. My fan wouldent run at all. I dont know how to do it, but I had a shop fix it [the fan always runs now so it stays real cool] and it was only like 30$ for them to do it.

Re: boiling over?

the termostat is located at the driver side in the front of the intake manifold. Follow the top radiator hose back to the motor and thats the housing it sits in. Depending on the intake style and configuration you may have to remove the throttlebody to access it. Also I'm assuming that you purchased the car modified by its previous owner. What exactly is done to it?

Re: boiling over?

well when i took out the thermostat i thought is was good, but when i went to auto zone and compaired it with a rnew one i realised how loose my t-stast was, and to check the water pump i just disconnected the tstat and the hose and left the hole open and turned on my engine and no water or liquid was even flowing in my engine, my buddy who is really goood with that **** said that coolant and water should have shot everwhere,so hopefulyl wheni get this new water pump and t-stat in everything will be back to normal, also check the pump by squeezong the hose and there was no pressure back when i let go , and i know that is a shure way of telling if the pump is bad anyone have any input to all this?

Re: boiling over?

Yes if the hoses are soft while the motor is running the water pump is toast. I'm assuming your car has a carb or TBI setup then if you didn't have to remove the TB that is on a TPI only setup I only mentioned that because if it was the case you would need the TB gasket to complete the job.
