Running hot, where to start?
My 10.5:1 355 runs hot (200-210) only when the weather is warm and I get on it. I rode through the mountains a few weeks ago in mid 80's weather and it ran around 200 or unless I was cruising. Well now its in the 90s and I know its going to run hot. I'm running just water and water wetter. I've flushed the entire cooling system. Should I look at replacing the radiator first or look at an aluminum water pump. I'm running a 180 degree thermostat. Whenever the engine gets hot it cools back down (180-185) within 5 minutes.

you running a mechanical fan? how fast were you moving when it was 200 or less? you have the air dam in front to deflect the air up into the radiator. 200 is a little high at any speeds over 40

Electric fan. I was driving up the mountain and behind some traffic but I would say 30-60mph. The air dam is in good shape. I'm pointing to either the water pump or radiator. When its not 80+ degrees out it runs 170.

How old is the radiator? It might be worth flushing it out, or replacing it. Also, FYI it's hard on the water pump to run 100% water. Antifreeze lubricates the bearings in it. I always put a gallon of antifreeze in, and the rest water.

If it a car stays under 200* w/o struggling then you have no problems.
