ohh yeah and now when the car is running at idle it starts to smoke a white smoke but if i take it to around 1500 to 2000 rpm it clears out and is fine for a lil while just wondering what that could be

Read the whole thread, had the same problem. I'm almost certain its the coolant fan motor switch on the side of the block located under the passenger side manifold.

Re: cant keep cool Please Help!!!!!!!1
these cars don't really run hot, unless stuck in traffic, on the highway they cool down with only the wind. I'd check to see if the water pump is pumping and coolant levels, if you've not done so already. My stock 305 never got very hot unless in traffic with the air conditioner on, in Fla. And like the previous post said, the white smoke could be coolant in the combustion.

If you look at the relay and understand basic electrical diagrams, you can jump the terminals and test to see if the fan is works there, by testing here you can rule out the relay as good or bad. They commonly fail, and sometimes appear heated up or burned where excessive heat has been building up.

Re: cant keep cool Please Help!!!!!!!1
The Technical articles section on here has complete info about how your fan system works. The relay is one of the two on the driver side firewall by the brake booster. If you ground the wire that connects to the fan switch either near the switch or at the relay with ignition on, the fan should go on. Also if you turn on AC switch it will go on if relay is good. If not check relay
