A/C/Heater not working correctly

I just put a new fan motor control switch in, it does adjust it from low to high, but it does not blow hard. When I first put the switch in, it did blow hard. Also I can not get the air to blow out of the dash vents, just the defroster vents, and its always on, even if the switch is off. Any suggestions on what both could be?

Defrost is the default setting and indicates that there's a vac leak somewhere. Stick your ear to the pass side of the HVAC and you may hear a hiss. If so, the following info will be helpful:

Ok I checked for that, I did not hear anything with the car on or off. I also noticed that when I turned the A/C or heat on, when I shut the car off it stayed on, to turn it off I had to just turn the switch to low
