Cooling Problems FIXED !!!

Been a while since I've been on the board, here's the deal my 89 Camaro had a Intake manifold leak and a Crack in the head??? In any event the car ran great until it got up to the 220 range and then it would overheat and puke back into the coolant reservoir.

I've replaced the Thermostat and rad , flushed the system and had resigned myself to tearing the Mill apart. For S & G I bought a bottle of "Bar Leak" at Walmart for $20.00, it claims to safely seal Head gaskets, cracked Blocks ect, ect. Jaded and Leery of most of these types of "Quick fixs". I thought what the Hell?

Well this is Southern Arizona, I don't consider Hot yet, but hot enough in the mid eighties to test this product out. Followed the instructions and after it cooled off I warmed it up again and let it idle then ran the Hell out of it, and then let it sit for a half hour idling!!

It got up to 220 degrees which is normal, then when I shut it down for a couple of minutes and restarted it was at 223 but came back down to below 220 at idle. Has yet to overheat!!!

When I shut it down when Hot it didn't bubble over and puke back into the reservoir. It definitely has sealed things up because the coolant no longer has that "Diarrhea color to it anymore. For twenty buck it is definitely worth trying?? I am truly amazed because these products never deliver even close to what the promise??

I am happy as a Pig in his Poop !!!!!!!

Wow , putting a dozen eggs in the radiator would have been a cheaper band aide.

It'll probably work fine for a long while. Where I have seen the problem in the past is when you go to finally take the heads off and they are cemented on. I saw a guy bust a head once trying to pry it off after that stuff was put in.

It may work for awhile. I used it to stop a small leak in a heater core. it work for a year before it started to leaked again.

Had no previous knowledge of this product, my plan is to swap the mill out for a 350, so if i can get a year out it, that'll work!

really...

Yeah, he was using a pry bar after the intake was off to break the head loose from the block. He stuck the bar in one of the ports and just broke the head.
