Hello,
I Found an A/C kit with compressor from a junkyard Camaro with a 305. Some compressor brackets were here but some were missing. Let's see the pictures of my junkyard setup. I need to make a list of missing brackets to have all Them before installing. For sure i need the big one which bolts to the exhaust manifold and the smaller adjustment bracket for Power steering at the Bottom of the block... But some others are missing.
You can see on the pictures that the inner Side of adjustment slot is not bolted to anything because the inner bracket is shorter than brackets i have Seen on pictures of comparable A/C system. Which bracket are missing ?
Next post i Will show you pictures from another cars from internet.

Now we can see pictures from another cars toon compare... On the 1st and 2nd picture we see that the inner bracket is longer than mines... And bolts directly on the adjustment slot.

Now, the pictures of my car engine bay without a/c. I have already a double WP pulley on the car and a double PS pulley on my shelf. And have also the Little a/c bracket in the intake on the upper right of picture 2.

Your power steering brackets are not the same as the "with AC" setup.
The "with AC" PS and AC brackets, how do I say this?, are intertwined with each other. It's a mess and like one of those Chinese (no offense) wire puzzles.
That bracket on the corner that provides the slot to adjust the power steering is very hard-to-find and $$$ valuable.
This is the setup you need to follow:
Your engine is running a Quadrajet carb, correct?
Yes, i'm running a Quadrajet carb.
the a/c system i took from the junkyard (pictures on post1) is from a 87 iroc z with a 5L TBI, but the compressor is on the Driver side, same as carbed earlier 305s with ac...
You might want to consider going in another direction and get the same, if not better results. With a large number of later model SBC engines with serpentine systems in salvage yards, you should be able to pick up a complete system with fewer problems and at a smaller cost. Finding and ordering all of the correct parts and pieces you will need to put together your system, the later serpentine system is much better and more trouble free. Just a thought.
Hello,
After 1 week or research, i finally Found a set of brackets for only 10$ nearby. It was one of the rare old guys with a lot of old parts on His shelf...
The only missing bracket is the brace but i can make it easily with my welder.
But I have a question about the brackets directly on the a/c compressor you can see on my first post pictures... The bracket on the Side of the compressor hoses is shorter and it ends between the 2 hoses flanges, it stops flush to the compressor body... When on the pulley Side, a bolt on the adjustment slot is tightly screwed 'vis-à-vis' into the bracket which is longer than the other bracket (stops 1 inch past the compressor body), a Bolt on the adjustment slot on the other Side would be on the emptiness... As you see on the first post pictures. Im wondering why... Is it only because the adjustment bracket is not clocked properly? Or the bracket is too short on the hoses side? Or it bolts on a missing bracket?* The pictures of my first post is the compressor i found at the junkyard, and i never unscrewed anything from it. On an empty engine bay, the adjustment of the big upper bracket was screwed tight like it was never unscrewed or loosen and was clocked like it. Never unscrewed anything since. That's weird.

I think There are different kinds of brackets on compressor itself. Your brackets are different from the picture and mines are different from both too. The system i found is from a 87 iroc z. Maybe Someone have the same car and could upload pictures of their engine bay. A good thing is all the 305s blocks and head holes are the same.
