Is there a way to test an ECM??

After doing a TBI tp TPI swap i got the car to run but it wasn't running just right.. So i let it set for about 2 weeks and went back to work on it again.... Now i can't get it started even. I can only get the SES light to blink once and then it goes out so i couldn't pull any codes off of it. And now i checked the injectors with a noid light and i am not getting any injector pulse. I did before cause it was running for about 2 weeks. What can it be?? A bad ground maybe???.... Should i just get a new ECM? ....OR is there a way i can check to see if the one i have (7165) is any good?..... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Well I have an article written by GM about checking ECMs. Give me a little time to find it.

gm ecm test is just tapping on the ecm and see if any things happens. the older ecm use to have a problem with loose connections. it is called the "tap" test

Some parts houses will rent / loan out a break out box.
This allows you to check out everything but the ecm.

Only other option is building an ecm test bench or finding someone that has one that supports your ecm.

I decided to order another ECM ,should be in tuesday..If that doesn't work i guess i'll just buy a painless harness and replace this one. Got to be one of the two causing my problems.

I need you to give me more time, I'm still looking in my books.
BTW I had the same problem and it was bad ground.

Okay z........ i won't get one yet......i wasn't trying to rush you...just was kinda thinking out loud i guess. Isn't there only 5 grounds to the ECM?..... Or are you saying it could be a ground on something else.... Cause i know when i put the harness in i grounded 5 wires off the ECM and i even went back and cleaned them real good and still ended up with the same results. Thanks
