Please help me learn, I'm desperate

I have a aldl cable, i have winaldl and turnerpro. I've downloaded everything i can find for my car off of moates.

How do i read my current sensor readings. My car is in a world of hurt, i need to know what sensors are bad, I'm a med student so i don't have money to buy all new sensors.

I really need someone to walk me thru, how to pull current values off of my car. Treat me like i'm a child in the walk thru if you most. I have finals this week and my car is running rich.

I've tried hooking up my cable to my laptop, then hooking up the other side to the 12v power and the diagnostics port. Ran winaldl for every ecm and no values were seen.

What program will work with my car? I don't want to just start replacing sensors, unless I know they are no good.

winALDL is what i used. no CE light? search for a test for coolant sensor. I would think it can be tested with an ohmmeter.

The v6 requires the ALDL mode 10 k Ohm resistor.
Follow these diagrams, and use winaldl.
http://winaldl.joby.se/aldlcable.htm

I personally have used winaldl no problem with an 88. Without the R3, the ECM only sends gibberish, but you should still see "some" values. If not, maybe you are better off building your oen cable. The first diagram from that site works great. you can buy all the parts at radioshack for 10 dollars. I threw in a voltage regulator as well.

CE light means the check engine light, also some times called a MIL, malfunction indicator light.

No light, occasionally got a 34, but fixed with new relays. My thermostat is 180.

take a screenshot with winaldl.
The raw data is gibberish, did you try viewing the dash or one of the tabs?

you NEED the r3 resistor or it wont work.
