Okay I have spark and my car spins over, but will not run. I have a 5.7ltr Iroc, could it be my ECM? I really need some help here guys. Does anyone think it may be my ECM? I really hope it isnt my computer, cause if I cant get it going then......... carb is gonna be installed.(dont want that) I have a spare Edlebrock Torker series intake manifold and a 650 holley! Thanks in advance for all your help.

Re: ECM Question.

HOLY CAPS CRAP BATMAN!!!. I dont' even know how you got the font that large. Any way, I'm fighting a simliar issue on my EFI setup. The ECM is only 1 possible culprit. From what I've been learning I'd start with the dizzy to make sure your getting voltage where it belongs and all your grounds are good. Also test to see if your dizzy is sending ref pulses at all to your ecm. Look in my thread to see the cr*p I'm trying to get through.https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...ml#post3422844

Re: ECM Question.

I have my injectors pulsing. The very large letering was a cry for some abundant help. I used a test light @ the obdII plug and I dont get the 1.5 volts.

Re: ECM Question.

Your injectors are pulsing and you have spark? Try starting it with a bit of ether.

It sounds like it might be a fuel pressure issue.

Re: ECM Question.

I take it you made a engine swap into the 86 and are trying to use the stock ECM. Well did you change the chip out to run your 350 ???? If the 305 chip is still in there it may be your problem and this is a guess.

Re: ECM Question.

The computer is looking for reference pulses from the distributor to give it an RPM signal. Check the 4 pin connector at the back of the distributor and make sure it isnt loose. The modul will still spark even with the computer disconnected.

The computer also will not fire the injectors unless it gets the rpm signal.

Re: ECM Question.

So i should check the rpm signal/the 4 pin connector @ the back of the distributor. I looked the two wires in the front are connected one green and one black, which are seperate wired connections and the two in the back which is a single connector. what about the 1.5 volts at the obd II connection?

Re: ECM Question.

20 amp fuse still good. all grounds are hooked up, i think i may try scuffing the int. manny to maybe get an even better ground. what about the distributor wires being crossed? i think i may just buy another computer, or go carb(which i really dont wanna do cause my motor looks is so hott with my tuned port.) PLEZ guys I wanna stay tuned port injected.

Then i guess i will pull the 90 irocz out of the garage. the runs no where near what my 86 ran.(86=13.20 in a 1/4) (90=15.40 in a 1/4) plus i was trying to keep the 90 all original and bone stock.
