MAP sensor reading vs Actual reading?

This thread is for future reference. I have already searched and came up empty on the topic. So i pumped 10 inHg from the map sensor and the Datalog value was way off. It was at 2.73 volts, when it should have been 1.5V. and during idle it just hangs around .8-.9V when it should be between 1-1.5V.

I will replace the sensor with a Delphi sensor and post the results.
Feel free to post your input.

Thanks.

Re: MAP sensor reading vs Actual reading?

I have BAD news for me. So i was on my way home from school and getting on to the freeway then all of a sudden the car started bogging then shaking then i heard a rattle coming from the tranny area. GREAT. then i limped off the next exit and it struck me what had happened, the exhaust donut, its given me trouble before. Ill replace these bitches, put the MAP sensor on. solder the new wire on as the old gm weatherpack conn. disintegrated in my hand. And to make matters worse, i snapped the collector bolt, so the passenger side header has to come out!!Blast!

It could be a while or it could take 2 minutes depending on what shape the manifold gasket if in.

Re: MAP sensor reading vs Actual reading?

So i took the air diverter valve assm out on the pass side, unbolted that side motor mount, and the tranny mount, and the ac accumulator (that little tall skinny R2D2???), and all that ****. the header jiggled it's way out. on its way out i smashed the header flange gasket, so i ordered another one up at work and it came the nex day and now its f ing raining! and i have school tomorrow from 8-5 and forecast says rain. Ill keep you posted.
