I plan on using code 59 for my turbo project. I have a 730 ECM. Some peopla are saying in there posts you need to repin the 730 to the 749 and then run the 59 code. Others are saying that you can run the 59 code on the 730 ecm without moving any pins. I was wondering if anybody knows which is correct? I have a 3bar MAP and an eprom with code 59 on it, and will be getting a ZIF socket soon. I could probably do it through trial and error but was looking for some insight. Thanks

I converted my 165 to 730 to run Code 59 and I didnt change anything else. Just added the MAP sensor wire and o2 wideband sensor input to the ecm
Only thing you may need to look at is TCC lockup but I dont have a lockup style tranny anymore so i am not sure if a pin needs swapped or not. Thats something you can try.

Thank you! deffenitely helps. I saw a write up on how to add the wideband. So im looking at adding two wires for the wide pand, 1 for the 3bar and possibly moving one for TCC correct? New to ecm tuning so I apologize for not understanding certain things quite yet. Another question I had was in write ups it will say (made up) for example add wire for wide band to A13 which is pin is A13? there are several connectors to the ECM as you know and i am unsure of how these are numbered? Thanks

I also went from 165 to 730 but I did change around some pins for the syty code58 at the time then went to the 59. I know for sure the IAC wires don't need to be changed (worked same both ways) but not sure about the other ones I moved. I'am kind of surprised Orr89RocZ said he didn't touch anything, i'll have to look into this more.

They say the injectors need swapped but I dont believe I did that. I'll have to recheck my pin work but according to the links on the conversions, I do not think I changed anything else. Its been awhile so let me think this over.

Those are the only ones to move for 730 ecm using Code $58/$59. VSS for cruise control you may need, I took out all my cruise control stuff so I didnt swap that.. I have no EGR and manual trans so I took that out.
Since I do have full manual valve body on my car, I may want to try wiring shift light for it if I can.

"Been there done that. DO NOT rewire your 730 ECM IAC pins. They are wired properly for the 749 ECM AS IS.
If using stock TPI injectors, DO NOT rewire the injector wires.
Overall, there is only like 3 or 4 wires to move for the 730 ECM to 749 ECM conversion.
EDIT: from memory the 749 has an output driver missing so the TCC is lost. You need to verify that. For what it is worth, I ran both $58 (Sy/Ty) and the $8D (Camaro SD) code in the 730 ECM wired as a stock 730 ECM for a while switching between the two WITHOUT re-wiring. The IAC re-wire thing is a myth and the injector wiring change is ONLY for Peak&Hold (non-TPI) injectors. Good luck.

Only change the following if you need to:
C1 connect to B12 (VSS for cruise)
F1 connect to F4 (shift light) for manual trans
F2 connect to disconnect (AIR pump solenoid)
F6 connect to F4 (TCC) for automatic trans

here are wiring diagrams for everything

So if I have it right looking at the back of the ecm it would be
A-------------- C-------------- E---------------
B-------------- D-------------- F---------------
With A/B being a 24 pin while C/D and E/F are 32 pins? if so i think i got the numbering method down.

Look into the connectors on the ECM itself, you will see numbers for each pin, and at the number 1 pins on each connector will show the correct letter for that row of pins.
