wire harness for 730 ECM??

I am upgrading my 165 ecm to the 730 ecm but cant find any wire harness. Does any one have one or know where i can pick one up.. Call junk yards and call Hawks. Hawks will only sell the hole harness for $200

Also Looking for the pin adapter and a stock prom for the 730. Thanks!!!

Dont be too quick to disregard the Hawks $200 deal if they have what you need. Custom harnesses can easily exceed that figure.

Good luck

Can I assume you still have the 165 harness? If so, just re-pin it. That will be easier than swapping out the whole harness. There is a sticky that has a link to the site that will explain how to do it.

Is this what you are talking about www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecm_swap_730/

Don't i need to get the harness from the 730 Ecm with the 3 snap in connectors??
I have the 165 in the car and just got the 730.

You can do in 2 ways.

1. make a adapter harness like in the link above
2. you can rewire your existig harness

in both cases you'll need connectors that fit the -730 ecm.......shouldnt be to hard to find.........

Re: wire harness for 730 ECM??

If you get an aftermarket harness, make sure it has provisions for a VSS. Some resellers omit it saying it is not needed. Wrong in most instances as it controls many things in the ECM.

Re: wire harness for 730 ECM??

you could do what i did, i went about 4" from the firewall plug and cut my existing harness, then spliced the 92 harness into the 89 bulkhead plug. alot of it is or was an easy match, starter wires, etc. i also had a wire harness and c100 diagram from both years, maf and sd. the sd harness was complete, so the only wires i had to splice was the ones near the power brake booster, i will have to swap some pins on the computer to underdash harness when it's time. either way, good luck man.
