Drive-ability issues

Recently my car has been running like complete garbage. I ran it at an AutoX, where it was running fantastic. Pulled hard through the RPM range, ran cold, and didn't feel like it was pulling any timing. The following day, it started to feel like it was pulling timing, at least I think so. It would "surge" at low rpm tip in, such as in leaving a stop light. It would do this all the way to 2500 rpm. If I give it more throttle there, it will pop. It's generally running awful.

I'm taking it to my tuner on saturday, but in the meantime it's my only car and I HAVE to drive it for work. Judging by this log, is there anything BESIDES tune I should be looking at?

Re: Drive-ability issues

If that pop is out the intake check the fuel pressure. Sounds like it is dropping off.

If the pop is out the exhaust I'd suspect that there is something wrong in the ignition system.

RBob.

How can you tell? I can only get it to pop under load at low rpm. I just hear the pop in the front of the car.

Re: Drive-ability issues

like rbob stated check the fuel pressure under load, if the fuel pressure is fine ohm the injectors. You can still have faulty injectors but you might be able to detect faulty coils checking the resistance when warm. After all mechanical is eliminated comes the tune idk how far from stock your configuration is.

Need to invest in scanning equip. Can check plugs for whiter color if its lean, or monitor fuel pressure.
Also check to see if timing has moved.

Re: Drive-ability issues

I uploaded my datamaster log. I'm going to check my initial timing, but I also need to know how to check my fuel pressure while I'm driving. If those are good I'm to ohm the injectors

Re: Drive-ability issues

Two ways of doing a fuel pressure test under a load, one is to load down the engine bye power braking and watch the fuel pressure. the other is tape your fuel pressure gauge to your windshield you may need to bungee cord down your hood to avoid pinching the tester hose.

Re: Drive-ability issues

Initial timing was 9 degrees. I set it back to 6 degrees. So that definitely wasn't the issue. I'm going to check fuel pressure next in the morning.
