...Bought a 1992 F**d M*****g LX 5.0 today, emerald green...

It's a good project for the wife, she's been driving a 4-cylinder that is otherwise identical for 10 years now and I can't convince her to sell it.

The new addition needs at bare minimum clutch, tires, wiring work, interior facelift, maybe tranny repair (grinder 1-2 shift 5-spd manual), and some suspension work (feels like rear LCAs are swimming around).

Anyways, like I said WAY off topic, but this is a knowledgable group and I was seeking good references, maybe even some EFI discussion. If anyone wants to point me in the right direction with some links or such, it'd be appreciated. Offline email is fine for that stuff as well.

Many thanks,
-Craig

Craig,

to tune the chip on the ford's you need a cable/program called the EEC tunner. You can find it on the National lightning board
http://www.nloc.net/forum/index.php?s=

YOU SINNER, Who's your favorite little rascal, is it
Alfalfa or is it SPANKY

Get an Arizonia Speed and Marine Remote IAC, change some sensors, and wire in a 1227730. Then you'll have something worth playing with.

The eec IHMO is a nightmare. There is nothing user friendly about it. there, terms glossary is about 100 pages, and unless you want to worry about MAF Slope, you can be using your timing getting right, rather then learning a new language.

BTW, there are a number of supercharged M******s running 749s.. Yes, it's true. Follow every vacuum line in some of the S/C cars and you'll see a GM MAP, and it's wired to a 749.

Next you'll wander into the dark side........
Hahahahahahaahaaa

BTW, the thread is back on-topic

How much rewiring involved and what sensors. My friends got a pretty built up 5.0 but it's got everything and is in mint condition (93 LX 5 speed, cam, HO heads, comp cams intake, moroso cold air, indy profile out back with 3.73 posi and it's BLACK).
I runs fine but it's so rich that he gets terrible gas milage. He's in the 13's for the 1/4 mile but not sure by how much.
See that he's a big GM fan, I'm sure he wouldn't mind using the ecm. He's also got a firebird that just through a rod bearing and it's the only reason he went with the 5.ooohhhhhh....he's still getting his *** handed to him by yours truely....mustang.

Grandad.
Before light sabers, we answered challenges with contests of speed, the black cars were the pinicle of packing enough Force.

LOL

Just writting that and the lil guys want to go for a ride and check out the newest calibration for the Black Car.

With all the rain, the roads aren't too dusty and they have the ski boat on the trailer and are ready to go. They still claim to get better sied bite without tires on the wheels,
we'll see.

Craig,

Let me know what you end up doing. I have a friend who just purchased a show room condition 67 fast back, red with white stripes. He was asking if we could get a setup for fuel injection off of a 89-93 stang and change the ecm to the 730 ecm by repinning it? that way we can burn chips for it.
