There are no fuel tables in GMECMEdit. It is a binary file editor that saves you having to learn to use a hex editor to change your Memcal parameters (the binary program).

You load an ECU file into GMECMEdit so that you have the "parameter address template", if you like, that then lets you easily see and edit your Memcal's program (the BIN- standard binaries are referred to by their broadcast code- BCC, for example ARAPxxxx).

Now, when you have loaded an ECU and a BIN into GMECMEdit, you still won't find "fuel tables", because this is a PROM-burner's jargon for the VE tables on SD cars or I can't recall what on MAF cars- *somebody else help him* (it will be embarrassing if they ARE called fuel tables in the MAF ecu's ). The Volumetric Efficiency governs what pulse width the injectors get from the ECM, hence they are "fuel tables."

Cool thanx for the info. I can't find anything related to the VE which is why I posted here. Can it be adjusted in GMECM edit or will I have to break down and pay for TunerCat?

On the MAF cars (mine anyway), there are many fuel related tables, though none called such. There's PW vs. LV8 (pulse width vs. Load), which is the one I've made the most changes to aside from MAF transfer voltage vs. CFM airflow tables.

Most of the bin edit programs are very similar, mostly changing only in level of refinement or special features (GMECMEdit does VERY well). GMECMEdit has been very good to me, plus it's freeware. Give it a try!

As Brad says for the MAF cars, there are also many fuel related tables in the ECU's for SD binaries, like the acceleration enrichment and the AFR vs MAP and RPM tables.

Have a go with GMECMEdit and post again if you need some more info.

Thanx, I'll give it a shot. I guess I'm just used to LS1 Edit where there's only one or two fuel tables and they're called "fuel tables" where you can go in and just add 5%fuel at idles, or take away fuel at WOT. Got to retrain myself now I guess. I'll post updates when I get around to trying it. I have been using GMECM for everything so far, and I'm happy with it. I just need to learn how to use everything

I know exactly what you're going through!!! I'm still learning the terminology differences between OBD-II Ford tuners and the early GM terms, eventhough they all used very similar sensor values. Sometimes I know what I want to do to the curve and where I should put it, but which tables to find the values and how to calculate those values are another matter.

The most help I got was from the big list of abbreviations that I found after a search on these boards for "Tuning abreviations" if I remember correctly. Such as "DFCO" stands for Deceleration Fuel Cut Off... how would you know what it was or how to modify it otherwise? LOL! IIRC, they also posted the list on the diy-efi website...

That's actually LS1Edit's fault. The LS1 PCM will have more fuel related tables than thirdgen MAF cars. It's just that LS1Edit isn't showing them to you.
