$32B to $6E

Hi,

a friend has asked me, if i can burn him a chip for his 88 350 Formula. I have seen that converting to the $6E is much better.

What do i have to change in the Arap.bin so that it will work without any problems?

Thanks!!

Nebu.

Disable Vats, and lower the spark table a bit.

Other than that I'm not sure, it should work fine. Unplug is cold start injector on the car also.

It's a flag. What ecu file and editor are you using?

its another flag that needs checked for the cooling fans to work properly.

-ECM SWITCH TABLE

X VATS Select, X = Enabled
0 Manual/Auto Transmission, X = Manual
X Normally Open Fan Request Input
X Veh. Speed Diag. (Err 24), X = Enabled
X EGR Diagnostic (Err 32), X = Enabled
X MAF Burnoff Diag. (Err 36), X = Enabled
X Knock Diagnostic (Err 43), X = Enabled
0 VATS Diagnostic (Err 46), X = Enabled

third one down. hope this helps this is from the arap bin.

@clippjr: i only have the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Air Flow Mode Word under Flags. There are only Flags like: AirFl, TCC, Purge etc.
I have found the VATS under the 1st but i cant find the N/O Fan Flag.

I'm using the 6Ev011.ecu

How much do i have to change the Spark Values? I cant test the Eprom, because he lives not in my town.

Its going to be different dependent upon the ECU file.

To change the spark, look at the Spark Advance Table, Power Enrichment Mode Spark Adder, etc

Look at 4th air flow mode word...... third down... FANNO

I assume that's what he's tlaking about.

I've been using The ARAP bin for a long time but don't have my fans wired to the ecm, I was going to wire them while the motor is out here so this is good to know.

Don't forget the TCC flag if it is an automatic. This is only to control the lockup of course.

The ARAP bin is an automatic bin if IIRC, so the TCC should already be setup. Otherwise copy all the values from the $32 bin to paper, and then type em into the ARAP bin.

I have converted my $32B bin to $6E and it worked fine. I don't know what editor your using but I simply opened 2 seperate tunercat windows (one was specific for 6E and the other was 32B). Then I highlighted a whole table from 32B (i.e. Main spark adv. vs load), copied it and pasted it into the 6E bin. I did this for tables that were similar, others you will have to tweak (i.e. Start-up AFR vs Coolant Temp and you will also will have to manually adjust your constants: injector flow, base timing, etc.)

I seem to get a better response from 32B than 6E. MY car is more responsive in terms of off-idle response and at WOT. Maybe that is because 32B has the IPW vs RPM table (or maybe it's IPW vs LOAD, one of the two.) Don't really know why this is the case?

is it the abwt88ta 32.bin with the 1227165 ecm?
