Eprom Stuff/parts

Does anybody know where i can find a GM female serial diagnostics port connector ODB1, also where are the cheapest prom burners? And on the side, what is the ballpark estimate for how much HP can be gained from this stuff?

------------------
1991 Z28 305 5spd 1LE, TES headers, dual cats, 3 Chamber flowmaster, Comp cams .488/.495 212/218 the usual street racer with a stock chip.
Gained 20HP by porting and polishing my EGR passage.

For a female port... go to the junkayard and yank one off any 80's GM car (almost).

Check out the Auto Xray 20110 cable.
It'll set you back $20-30 but it's
what you're looking for. I don't have
a cheaper source; anyone?

Will that cable plug directly into a laptop and make it able to run some of the free software that tells you how your engine is running?

No. That's the end you were looking for; you then cobble it together to work with the ALDL circuitry you can build or buy from AKM electronics.
