$58 ALDL Patch for autoprom use

Attached is a patch file to fix some receive setup problems in the $58 code.
This seems to fix Autoprom connectivity in Emulation mode on the vehicles that it's been tested on so far.

To patch, you'll need to have patcher from:
New Page 1

Follow the Bin Patcher menu.

From there, just patch your $58 with the attached txt file.
This should work with all the released wide-band patches that I've done, but I can't guarantee how well it'll work with someone else's.

This also won't work with my early $58 extended F77 patch, so if you're running that, you'll need to remove that patch first.

You can also get this patch at:

http://digware.lunarpages.com/digware/aldlpatch.zip.

This patch is freely available to anyone who wants to use it. As with any code patch, stuff can go wrong. This is a very early beta patch, and has only been tested on a few applications.

Usual disclaimers apply:
User assumes all risk! Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery! Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball! Do not take internally!

This patch also makes it much easier to connect in TunerPro in general, even with a standard ALDL cable.

It is highly recommended that you use this patch.

Heck it even helped Datamaster connect right up. No more cycling looking for PCM Sync signal. Might do it for a second but it will connect right up.

Re: $58 ALDL Patch for autoprom use

I know, I know, Necroposting, but....

I've been searching for hours today, for the $58 ALDL patch, all of the links are now dead, I'm not surprised most posts are from 2006 or so.

After a Google search, I found this thread, it has the patch.txt in it. I can't find the patcher utility to use for this, again, the links are dead.

In other patches I've added, specifically fan control for $OD, I simply hand entered the data in using a HEX editor, and worked fine, can I do the same with this, since it looks like it has location information along with values to add at those locations?

I'll likely just go ahead and try editing by hand and see how it works.

Thanks

Re: $58 ALDL Patch for autoprom use

Just an update, I'm now home, and hand edited a $58 bin with the aldlpatch values found in the .txt file contained in the above posted .zip, and it works flawlessly, in initial testing.

I went from having connectivity issues with the Auto Prom, to having a solid connection.

FWIW, I also tested the same stock $58 bin (BBZB), with an Ostrich, a MAX232 based home made serial cable, and a Moates ALDU1 (Xtreme ALDL). It worked fine using an Ostrich and separate datalogging cable.

I thought about doing this earlier, when I had the car here, but didn't think it would be an AutoProm specific issue. Now I know.

I was having bin corruption issues though, so I need to figure out what was going on there.

Thanks Dig.

Re: $58 ALDL Patch for autoprom use

Forgot to mention. The patch is mainly for the Autoprom since the ALDL and Emulation packets are inside a wrapper of sort. But this patch helps other tools connect faster and easier also. Other tools just spam the **** out of the stock $58 until it answers. 58 was super chatty and had a very small window you could talk to hit. This is because 58 could connect to a HUD or some other ALDL devices that GM had connected to the ECM.

Re: $58 ALDL Patch for autoprom use

Is that patch or functionality is already in the $59 code?
