IAT hooked up w/EBL -why didn't I do this earlier?
Well, finally got the IAT hooked up (birdcage style). I placed it right after the filter on my K&N in the tube. Great results!!! BLM's are much more stable, almost never changing more than two or three from around 128. After a 10 minute test drive, I had temperatures from 20C to about 40C. That's a big change in air density- noticed my truck pulling a little harder under accel. Great response time on the sensor- almost instant as watching the EBL What's Up. I just drilled a hole then kinda force-threaded the sensor in and sealed it up. Probably going to gain some MPG. Love that EBL.

where did you get the TBI bonnet and the inlet tube? how much does the bonnet rise above the top of TBI?
how much CFM can the air filter allow?
reason I ask is i am running a traditional round AC on a GM 7.4L TBI and am pulling only 90 MAP. K + N states my 2 inch by 14 inch AC will not support 670cfm per their reference material. 90 map suggests a restriction at filter or the TBI.

I have no idea howmuch the filter CAN flow, probably not restricting me too much. I need a true cold air intake, but I want all my headlights and don't have the money for a ram air hood setup. I bought it at four wheel parts-
it's the K&N filter injection performance kit (FIPK). I put a K&N filter in the OEM air intake in my old car (86 Z28 LG4) and it helped a little. It is definitely less restrictive than what was on it before.
here's couple pics. one from the front, then side
I'm adjusting FP right now, so it's all tore apart
Intersting you said you can pull only 90 MAP- does pressure altitude have anything to do with that? With key on, engine off, may MAP reads about 85. I think that's because here in Denver the air is more thin.??? I could be WAY off with that line of thinking

Thanks. It wont fit my set up. In HOT ROD mag was a carb bonnet (plastic) sitting on a new 2007 Hemi being dropped into a 70 Duster. that was a plastic bonnet low profile with a 90 deg bend (aluminum tubing) with a large KN sitting on end. Article did not say who made it. might fit my setup. I can get a low profile aluminum bonnet that is perfect but $130. I still need the tubing and KN filter.
my key on Wisconsin is 99 map so i am losing something at 90 at WOT.

Ronny...
Check out these guys...they used to make a plastic one but they have discontinued them now. I think I got the last one they had. They are for superchargers but can be used for a CAI.

OK, so the procharger is larger than my K&N at the base. bet I can trim it or make something that will work. I take it that the dish just channels the air more efficiently? 45 bucks for what looks like a 1980's salad bowl is alittle much. maybe I can fab something up??!!
GOod idea on that, thanks Ronny
