Injector Pulse Width very very low why?

Can anything interfere with Tunerpro displaying the incorrect Injector Pulse Widths while datalogging?

Driving in my friends camaro yesterday we had the datalogger going.. And his injector pulsewidths are around .50 - .20 msec while driving! When he puts the foot down on the gas the pulse widths decrease! If he does a gear change or starts to slow down the injector pulse width will hit a maximum value of about 1.0 msec.

This seems very odd and directly the opposite to what should happen.

So the question is what are the possible causes of this, and can it be interference somewhere causing this?

Or maybe it is not being displayed correctly in Tunerpro?

Yes I am, everything else is fine except for the injector pulse width being so low...

IME BPWs of < 1msec should not happen when driving unless the injectors are too big. RPM is not a factor in PW, however, the PW should increase under hard acceleration, when the mixture should be richer. If the car runs and accelerates smoothly, and you're seeing BPW get smaller when accelerating, then there MUST be something wrong with the datalogger setup. Can you view the raw bytes? Do you have access to another data logger?

Re: Injector Pulse Width very very low why?

I have thought about this a little and thought first that the data might be corrupt or something. But it has only really been the injector pulse widths.I have a COM port cable we can try and use and test to see if it gives different readings. At the moment we have been using the USB to ALDL convertor.

The car is 383 HSR miniram 6speed running the 730. The car was tuned by some guy who is into this at a workshop. Now it would not start on the SAUJP BIN. The IAC tables had to be modded very much as well as a lot of other things. If we try and run the car on a stock SAUJP bin the car will run very very bad. Now I am not sure why this is, as another guy with a 383 Miniram set-up the car starts fine with the SAUJP bin and just needs a few tweaks here and there.

What are your opinions on the driveability of the 383 HSR on a SAUJP bin? Maybe the ARAP bin might be worth a try to see how it runs? I just think that all the mods to the chip to get it to start seem a little odd.

The injectors are 34lbs. The engine is a crate motor rated at around 450hp with a carby set-up.

The last thing that looks a little suss is the O2 sensor readings, but they do not look completely stuffed just a little questionable. So we might try and exchange that and see what happens.

But you would think that to get the car started the SAUJP bin would do it fine.

I have attached the datalog of this strange problem. When I graph the 02 voltage it looks like it is either high or low and not much in between. But there is a little in between just not as much as I have seen in other datalogs.

What's your engine capacity (cc) and number of cylinders?

It's probably wrong in the .ads file. Mine was, I had the same problem.

Check the following in the .ads file:
Byte Number: 45
16 Bit (2 Byte)
Operation: Multiply(X*Factor + Offset)
Factor: 0.015259
Offset: 0

Legend! I checked that out with my ADS file and my mates and they were different. Maybe a different version. But it shows the correct values now with my ADS.

Thanks champ!
