EBL RAMJET dying after idling for a while

Well just got my car running. Wow this thing sounds awsome. Done about 10 VE learns on it, running much better, has about 25 miles on the new build. Mods in sig.

Current problem is that if it idles for a while the BLMs shoot up and the car dies and can't restart untill after it cools. No idea what is causing it?

Any help would be much appreciated

Also if anyone wants to look at my bin and data log and tell me where to go next that would be great also

Thanks in advance

Ryan

Have you tried open loop idle with that cam. There is a good chance that you have one of two things driving the BLM value up. Its likely either the overlap from the cam, pushing 02 past the Oxygen sensor, OR the Oxygen sensor is cooling off at idle (this is in the case of headers and a 1 wire unheated sensor).

Re: EBL RAMJET dying after idling for a while

Fast355 hit the nail on the head with the O2 sensor cooling off. After about 3 minutes of idling the O2 value starts dropping off. The INT & BLM starts adding a lot of fuel which floods the engine.

For now can set the open loop idle option to prevent the issue. Option Word 1, OpIdl.

Re: EBL RAMJET dying after idling for a while

Thanks for your help, I'll give that a try. Still a little confused on how that happnes, it took 20 min of sitting there idling for it to stall (only posted the last few minutes of the log) would a heated O2 sensor help?

Thanks again for your help

or why I can't restart it for a while (over 30 min) after it stalls?

Thanks again

Re: EBL RAMJET dying after idling for a while

From what I could tell a heated O2 is required. How far down the pipe from the heads is the O2 sensor?

The stalling was caused by the engine flooding. Note the injector PW as the INT & BLM's increased. If it happens again hold the pedal to the floor while cranking. That invokes a clear flood mode.

the O2 is in the drivers side shorty headder, just foward of and at about the same height as the middle of the oil filter

I'll try a heated O2

thanks

It would be easier to just turn on open loop idle for the experiment. I think the cam in your engine will idle better in open loop with a slightly richer a/f mixture anyway.
