O2 threshold tables

hey all!

running an 8062 ecm with the $4E mask built by saar. i have a fairly aggressive solid cam and im trying to get the idle rpms to run a little leaner. i read that adjusting the values in the; rich, lean, and mean O2 threshold tables will help me dial it in. well the lean and mean O2 tables have the same values, and the rich is zero'd. im hoping it isnt supposed to be like that, if not, what should the values be in those tables? also, when im driving, (for lack of a better word in my vocab) the engine feels herky jerky lol. would these tables affect that? it starts to break up around 4k rpms too, it spits and pops out the exhaust. going to the parts bin today to get some plugs as i think these ones are toast. thanks in advance!!

Re: O2 threshold tables

No not disassembly. Just load a known stock bin in TP and see what is there. I did move myr ich-median-lean up 10% in value to attain a slightly richer CL A/F and put commanded to 14.3. maybe I am just wasting gas.

I dont understand how rich can be zero. are you using the correct calibration file .xdf .ecu?

the original bin/xdf i downloaded from TPs website was just a basic mask, it didnt even have half the parameters that robert saar sent me. im using what he built. $4E bin and xdf. thats all i know lol. i dont know where i can find another bin to see if those values are different.

Ditto, first thing that came to mind.
Try locating and importing a different $4E definition (XDF or ECU file)

Open your current bin file and see if the values display the same.

Then using the same ECU or XDF file, load the "stock" bin file and see if the values are similar or way off. The stock values "should" have worked. Maybe not as well as they should but that is how the factory had them set.
What is the BCC of the bin file? (like ATBA,AMRW, etc)

Where you at in Brunseltucky? LOL
You may be pretty close to me.

Re: O2 threshold tables

Most of the stuff for $4E is from Saar that I have found.
Most on the V6 board or from your thread on the TP site.
Probabbly send him a PM for the definition he used to create it from.

I DL the 4E xdf from the TP site and saw the same thing you did when using the ONLY bin file I could find for it.
I forget what the BCC was right now but can confirm it tonight at home.

TBI is not my strength but may be able to help you somewhat.
I'm off Drake near Pearl so maybe we can take a look at it together this weekend and figure something out.
Shoot me a PM with your #.

Re: O2 threshold tables

ok, i put my '747 in the truck with the 4.3 5spd bin, calculated the BPC and took it out for a spin. runs alot better, and doesnt surge anymore. im thinking the $4E bin is messed up, ill figure it out when i learn more. thanks for the replies!!!

Re: O2 threshold tables

found out why the Rich table was messed up.... the conversion somehow got set to "/.2240|0|0|0|".....

?

oh well, i fixed the equation, sending it to mark now. were there any other oddities you found that i might be able to fix, since we're on the subject?

would those tables cause the engine to surge at part throttle?
