unable to find AKFY bin file
Im new to this and bought everything to get started. I pulled my memcal and discovered that the chip has been replaced with an unknown aftermarket one that has the stock delco sticker covering the uv opening. I have both TunerCat & TunerPro and both wont read the chip saying I need the definition file $25. So I figured if i could download the original bin that would be a good starting point. I have looked and no one seems to have that bin. Also considered going with a bin file from a 89 since im switching to a stealthram and eliminating the cold start injector. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Re: unable to find AKFY bin file
The akfy 305 tpi manual trans is a $32B once you have your read look at your buffer. It maybe be on a 27c256 with changed offset 16k .bin . you cannot reprogram this uv eprom on the burn 2. The $6e seems too have a little longer crank time but has a lean cruise mode. You can unsolder the uv eprom and use a moates d2 dip or solder in a 27sf512 or use the g1 and sst flash eprom.

Re: unable to find AKFY bin file
I have it all the way to the one side of the burn 2 opposite the indent in the chip side. Isn't that correct? I posted the pix to also show that the chip does not show what it is. It doesn't have 27c128 or 27c256 like I expected. the kit from tunercats came Edith the burn 2, moates adapters, and a 27sf512 eprom. I also purchased a UV eraser and extra e proms. Looked on line thru all the links but no one had that particular bin file for download.

Re: unable to find AKFY bin file
it just looked like the header was not in the correct spot in the zif not the orientation. just do a read as a 27c128 and goto the buffer and see if it shows 32 starting in 00000008-9. acdelco chips do not always label them the identifier is the 160xxx. why did you buy a uv eraser do you have another programer ?

Re: unable to find AKFY bin file
btw the 32B xdf is free, but you need to read the eprom right first 000000 -> 003FFF

Re: unable to find AKFY bin file
The 32b came with my tunercat as i had ordered it for my specific car. I downloaded the 32b for tunerpro from gearhead efi along with some bin files just to get a feel for what everything looks like and does. I ordered the uv eraser because i read that depending on the chips you would need it. I also have 5 brand new 27c128 chips and 5 27sf512 chips because I wasnt sure which were better or easier to use. I guess my first noobie question should have been WHY cant I read my bin file from my chip. I will have to play with it again tonight when I get home from work. I do appreciate the help

Re: unable to find AKFY bin file
like I said in the earlier post you may have your start and stop wrong for the read, and you CANNOT reprogram uv eproms with the burn 2
