TunerPro Newbie need some help

Hello,

I downloaded the TunerPro software off moates.net after reading and researching A LOT on this forum. I downloaded the 6e mask bin .xdf file off of the moates.net resources just to open it and see what the software looks like and how it is formatted. When I opened the bin and looked almost all the values were set at zero's.

Does anyone know if this means there is a problem with the way I am reading in the .xdf file or are these files supposed to be set at zero to begin tuning the chip from the ground up?

Is there a quick explanation as to how I would go about that?

Re: TunerPro Newbie need some help

Download the ARAP bin for a start. Save it in Tunerpro and you can open it there.

Re: TunerPro Newbie need some help

the mask (xdf) tells the program how to decipher the actual information (.bin file) because they are different for different years...

you have to find a .bin file to download first, save it to the tunerpro folder
here: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...ams-Tuner-Info

but I would read this first:

Re: TunerPro Newbie need some help

Okay thanks guys I figured it out and I read the short tutorial link, it had about the same information from what I found on this forum. Do you guys know where would be a good place to look to start researching how the 2D tables work so I can start reading up on that for when I get to that point?
Thanks

Re: TunerPro Newbie need some help

Also I have 3 bin files to choose from ARAP, ANZA, and APYP which one would be the best to look at to start "tinkering" with to learn how the software works?
BTW I have a 87 Trans am 305 tpi
Thanks

Re: TunerPro Newbie need some help

I would think you would want to start with the factory file -- but I don't know very much about this stuff either....

I found a list of 1987 files, so you can have your pick...
