SA tables for Alum head 10.2 compression 350

Hi,
I'm wanting to compare timing tables with anyone who might have a similar setup to see what others are running with aluminum heads and 10.2 compression on a TPI 350. I'm learning that high compression engines don't need as much timing.
TPI w/ ported edelbrock plenum and Arizona Speed runners
Brodix IK180 heads
Quench is around .038

cam specs..

What octane gas are you running? That's a lot of compression for a conventional small block and relatively mild cam.

I run 93-94 octane. I'm not suffering from any ping. I get some minor ping at times but I think it's false readings from exhaust roller rockers etc.

Re: SA tables for Alum head 10.2 compression 350

Honestly could kinda start with the iron L98 tables and mod as needed. 24-25 idle, ramp up to 38-40 as rpm increases to peak rpm in high vacuum areas, potentially more but need to play with it. 1/2 throttle range with medium load id go a couple degrees less than the cruise timing, probably 35-38. As you approach 0 vacuum or wide open throttle, decrease timing. Try keeping peak torque rpm around 30 for now and peak hp rpm around 32. Dyno from there 1 deg at a time and see what it does. Peak timing may be 32, it more than likely will fall in the typical 34-36 deg depending on how good those chambers are, how hot the engine runs, etc.

Thanks everyone for the advice and info! I can work with this. I hope someday to get some dyno time but for now just doing it the best I can.

Re: SA tables for Alum head 10.2 compression 350

Here's what I have.

That's for: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...st-intake.html
GM Crate SP383 Deluxe Aluminium Fast burn heads, 9.6 compression running on 91 + Boostane.

With the '7730, The ECM runs SA Closed TPS from a different table. In idle mode there is SA correction to help with stabilizing idle +/-5*. It runs anywhere from 15* to 25* at warm idle. PE SA adder is set to 0* and CT SA table correction plays a role depending on CT. At operating temp, there is no CT SA Correction. Highway SA mode is disabled.

I did tune WOT SA on chassis dyno and there was no significant difference on between 28* and 32*. Something like 7whp from 28* to 30*, and 2whp from 30* to 32*. We settled at 30*.
The rest of the table was not tuned with chassis dyno. So it can be off in certain area.

Re: SA tables for Alum head 10.2 compression 350

Forgot to mention, I use $8D, S_AUJP V6 and the Cold SA feature is disabled. So under a certain CT threshold, the ECM DOES NOT use the 100KPA MAP column for SA.

Weird. Most of time AI/Bots steal long dormant accounts.
