Which 1 32 Or 32b?

OK. I've tried the 6e using the at29c256 chip but to no avail.
I'm trying to use same chip using known good bin.It burned well
(to the best of my knowledge,even verified(for a change),upon
checking my work in t.c. it says that it requires 32 d.f. what gives?
ecm is the 165.thanks in advance

I would try the one that verified properly. There is no need to look at it in TunerCat if it verified against the binary file. $6E is better. I would stick with it.

Did you try double loading the image?.
If not try that.
You really want to use the latest mask possible.
The code really is better

I'll second/third the endorsement of the 6e over 32/32B. I started with my stock ACXS 87 bin and then moved to the ARAP 6E. Never looked back.

Just disconnected that cold-start injector and got the FI size dialed in, and everything's been on an improvement ever since.

You'll probably need to take some timing out and smooth the curves there, and might want to play around with the idle & PE curves as well, along with lock-up speeds. Oh, and don't forget the crank FI pulses need to be set earlier. But other than that, it's a pretty nice transition. Step change in how 'nice' the car runs, much smoother drivability, etc.

Do you think there's any difference between 6E/32B based on transmission type (I have the 5-speed)? I've been reviewing my stock bin using the 32b mask (which seems more comprehensive than the 32) but haven't tried the 6E yet.

I just went and looked at the stock bin from my '88 using the 6E and there's no way it's right. Most of the tables look OK but some of the constants and other values are messed up. I'm open to suggestions if someone thinks I might be messing something up. In my case it looks like the 32B is better for now.

The structure of the BINs are different. For instance, you can't look at a 6E bin with a 32B mask. If you use the 6E mask for editing, it must reference the proper locations associated with the 6E bin.

What you could do is look at your 32B bin with a 32B mask, and then take the representative table values from the 32B bin and put them in place of the corresponding values within a 6E bin read with a 6E mask. I think this should make sense.

Anyways...

Thanks Craig, this does make sense. I'm just waiting to get my car back on the road so I can collect some data and figure out what might need attention.

That's great, but where can I find that elusive $32.ECU?

Not sure exactly what you're asking, but I got my 32bv001.ecu from:
