Berlinetta "Star Wars" Instrements

Does anybody have information, or know where to obtain schematics or pinout assinments for IC boards for '84 Berlinetta Dash.
Mine does not do anything anymore, and I would like to retain the original dash if possible.

Thanks in advance,

SAM

Can't help with a diagram of the cluster itself - but I probably have a replacement for ya'. Is your car a V-6 or V-8 - (It makes a difference because of the tach).

I have tried for a LONG time to get the diagrams you are asking about and have never found one. I even obtained a special GM manual from 84 oulineing the digital Camaro and Corvette dashes hoping to overcome the 85 MPH limit on the readout - no luck. Here's one of the "TEST" steps (for giggles !) SYMPTOM-Cluster does not work properly. " 1) check fuse 2)check groud, 3)check power, if all OK replace cluster"

If you tell me what is not working than I can tell you what "Pin" on the connector is used - but I have no information at all about the INSIDE of the cluster.

John,

Thanks for the quick reply.
My car is a "H" 305 4bll model. I just bought the car, and has ben modified a bit.
Edelbrock 600 carb & spark advance box.
Had a lot of small elect. problems ie wipers would'nt work, interior lights ect. Most were dirt and bad conections at switches. got them all working including the pedistel sterio system. I've had the dash module out and it looks ok, no hot spots and very clean.I have power at a couple of pins on the main plug, but without schematics it will be difficult to tell exactly what the problem might be. Mind you, I said difficult not impossible. Any info you could share on this subject is highly appreciated.

Thanks for the link Dan. The supplement will help alot, as I wasn't sure just what the display "displayed" .

As for the blinker problem, I do know there is a left and right signal relay in the relay box that is piggy backed on the ECM under the pass. side dash. Kind of a bear to get out. You might try there.

Thanks again,

SAM

There is actually a way to overcome the 85 mph limit on the Berlinetta cluster. It may be made to have a maximum 1:1 readout of 136 mph, and a 2:1 readout above 136 mph with a circuit that I am working on. The circuit looks at the VSS input, and automatically switches the cluster over to read KPH above 85 mph, and scales the VSS signal such that the reading is actually in MPH - even though KPH is displayed - then, above 135 mph, the cluster is switched back to read MPH, and the VSS signal is divided by two. In this mode, above 136 mph, the cluster displays the speed divided by two. Below 85 mph, the speedo functions in its normal mode of operation.

Tim - I have heard of this mod before,.... but have never seen it come to life. If you manage to complete your modifications successfully than I will be very interested in having the alterations made to one of my Berlinetta clusters. I am currently using an aftermarket performance speedo which is nice because I can re-calibrate the speedo when changing tires, get 0-60 & quarter mile times ect. But there's nothing like a factory dash reading over 85 MPH !!!

Sam - I'll be sending some scans soon !

John,

I recieved your email less scan.
If you could try again I would appreciate it very much.

It may be a problem with my IP as I tried to return a reply via email but was refused access.

Thanks,

Sam

P.S.
