blinkers

Hey guys,

I was driving out to my cabin yesterday when I noticed that my blinkers dont "blink" they just stay on, the lights do come on but they don't blink, the lights in the dash come on as well but they don't blink either. I checked all my fuses and they all looked good, and I don't think it would be a bulb going bad because it was both the left and the right side.

heelp!!

thanks,

Ben

sounds like your low on blinker fluid.

naw actually it sounds like you have a tail light out or possibly your flasher unit.

I'd check the same. Tail light out or your flasher fuse is dead.

Well, I checked out the brake lights, they seem to be just fine. What could it be? You mentioned somthing about a flasher unit... where is this located?

Thanks,

Ben

I did a search on where it is supposed to be, but I could not find it under the fuse panel, is it one of these on the panel?

nope, you have to take off the whole bottom panel, and you will see another panel with all the flashers and relays

TUrn on your hazzards & walk around the car. The hazzards will flash regardless of a light (turn signal element) being burnt out or not. On a camaro, the brakes have nothing to do with the operation of the turn signal

The turn signal relay is clipped to the steering column brace under (above technically) the 'convenience' panel (to the right of the steering column. The 'hush' (trim) panel has to come off to see this. The convenience (I swear I'm spelling that wrong..) panel will swing out of the way to (barely) get to the signal flasher. But that's based on my 84, the 83 I pulled a column from & an 85 I yanked the harness from...

its right above your right knee.... you have to take the bottom dash cover off to get to it.

I have a similar problem on my 89, in the convenience centre there are 2 relays, 1 round and 1 square, which is which?

Car: 82 TA
I have the same problem on my 82 TA.
The lights flash super slow or not at all when the brake is on.
I'm going to get a new relay in a couple days and i needed to know where it went also.

Is it in the same place for a TA ?

most likely, its going to be in the same place or at least in the area.

I do have a question though, how about the flasher unit for the hazards? I know at least on the older cars there were two units, is it in the same place?

Basically Im going to be ungrading my taillights (with luck in finding the darn bulbs) to LED bulbs, which need different flasher units.

Thanks.

Haha, same for my car. Only the left one stays solid, right one works perfectly fine.
