removing some wiring under the hood....

attached is a picture of some things i want to remove, this is a street car, and it will have no a/c, no emissions, and no factory idiot lights/gauges except the speedo and gas guage.

any excess wiring will be trimmed back to the main harness to clean up the looks of the engine compartment

the items in question are circled,

thank you for your input

ok looks like what you got circled are:

top left: electric fan relay mounted on rad support next to battery

top right: relay mounted to firewall on drivers side could be either a fuel pump relay or a lighting relay

bottom left: no clue

bottom: looks like part of the heater/ac blower assembly

Bottom left looks like cruise control and charcoal canister stuff.

i highly doubt that any of those relays are fans or fuel pump, as the car was originally a v6 and had a mechanical pump on the side of the motor, and it did not have an electric fan,

what exactly is the function of the charcaol canister, and can i get rid of it?

The charcoal cannister is part of the emissions gear.

The one that is mounted to the radiator support is, I believe, the relay for your lights.

The stuff on the top right picture [right in front of the driver] are random electrical sensors for the engine. They're not hooked up on my car either.

If you don't care about emmissions and not using the puter then basically everything coming from the passenger side harness is computer related. The wires from the drivers side are your essentials.

Today i chopped all of the wires on the passenger side of my camaro. Only a few things were hooked up so before cutting them i unplugged them and there was no effect. It looks so much better with all of that mess gone. And i probobly lightened the fron 10 lbs.
