engine doesnt turn over, need help fast

Hi guys, once again i am in need of some assistance. my 1984 z28 305 5.0 L H.O. camaro broke down this morning. it wont start. the battery has juice and the starter is fine, but i think either my ignition switch or some other electrical device is not working. when i turn the key the choke and engine light should come on for a few seconds, but now when i turn the key they sometimes come on and sometimes dont, its inconstistant. i am not positive on this and i assume at least one person has had this problem before, so if anyone could help me that would be great.thanks.

i have further investigated this problem. here is what i can comfirm. my battery is perfectly fine, my starter is getting power, my alternator is getting power, and about half my fuse box is getting power. my ignition switch is not getting power and the other half of my fuse box isnt either, which means that something in between my battery and my ignition switch along with the half the fuse box is causing a stop in the transfer of electricity. ive checked many manuals and there are suggestions to fix such problems but none of them work. so i am kind of desperate for some help rite now. i am hoping someone more familiar than i with the wiring of this car could give me some help. i would really appreciate it.

Could you be a little more specific about the components that are getting power and those not getting power.

well there is power going to the following items:

headlights
CD player
dome light
solenoid and starter
four of the higher fuses(20-30)
alternator
heater
defrost
windows
hatch release switch

items that dont have any power:

all the lower fuses(5-15)
ignition switch
choke and engine lights
gauge cluster

Have you checked the PWR ACC fuse? It is one of the 35 AMP metal fuses and it supplies power to the ignition switch as well as several items that branch off from the ignition switch.

Dave Y has a valid point about the fusible link from the starter. Fusible link "B" supplies power to the ignition switch and several other items. Check this schematic out. The fusible link is marked with and "X", the circled area refers to the second page.

It also supplies power to the PWR ACC fuse.
