random fuse

in my 92 rs 305 camaro there is a fuse holder right below where the sail panel(speakers) are. but there was no fuse in it and it connects to the wiring harness. there were no original speakers there and i have no idea where it leads and what it controls. anyone know what this is?.

A previous owner probably had a custom stereo or other component installed in the car and removed it without removing all the wiring prior to selling the car. I pulled about 300' of useless wiring from my car when I got it. I even found a big roll of stereo wire crammed down under the left rear storage compartment, alarm components, car phone accessories, you name it. Just thought of something, does your car have the fold down locking lid in the cargo area with the two speakers in it?

It is stock, certain models of the 92RS were equipped with them. I had one and it had a special stereo in it that wasn't in the other models. That fuse, if it looks like it is a part of the original wiring, should be a part of the bose speaker system. I will try to get a diagram of it for you.

I've seen an "in-line" fuse used from the factory once for the BOSE set-up and once for fog lights.

Those speakers were supposed to be amplified speakers. I have been going through the 92 manual I borrowed and there is not a fuse listed in that area. There are, however, shields shown on those speaker wires.
